ACTING CLASSES Session I: September 10-October 18 Session II: October 29-December 6 Session III: January 7-February 14 Session IV: February 25-April 10 Session V: April 21-May 29 Acting Classes are held at the Landers Theatre, 311 East Walnut or The Firehouse, 1201 South Campbell. The tuition for an entire six-week session of classes is $50. There is a slight break if you wish to enroll in two courses over the period of one six-week session--$90 for both.
THE PLAYGROUND Ages 4-5 An exciting exploration of "play acting" for the very young child. This class encourages your child to have confidence in his or her ideas and abilities, develop concentration skills, and learn to work with others. Tuesday/5:00-5:50 p.m./The Firehouse A or Thursday/6:00-6:50 p.m./The Firehouse A STORY EXPLORERS Ages 6-8 A creative introduction to theatre. Through the use of classic stories and improvisation, your child will learn the basic skills needed to better express his or herself on stage and off. A great class for the first time theatergoer or child looking for constructive fun! Monday/5:00-5:50 p.m./SLT Studio B ACTING II-A Ages 6-8 An acting class designed for the confident youngster who has completed introductory classes and/or workshops. Wednesday/4:00-4:50 p.m./The Firehouse A ACTING BASICS Ages 9-12 Always wanted to be an actor, but didn't know where to start? Come play with us in Acting Basics! This class focuses on fun and creativity through theatre games and dramatic story-building. Group interaction and cooperation in playing a scene will be emphasized. Come play! Monday/6:00-6:50 p.m./SLT Studio B ACTING II-B Ages 9-12 Designed for the student who has mastered basic acting skills through classes and/or stage experience. This class will challenge its students to create and sustain a believable character while working with a text. Take the next step towards your acting career! Wednesday/5:00-5:50 p.m./The Firehouse A ACT/TEEN Teens This class is designed for committed young adults who are interested in advancing their acting skills. ACT/TEEN is a terrific class where students are challenged with monologues, scene work, and improvisation. Monday/4:00-4:50 p.m./The Firehouse A or Wednesday/4:00-4:50 p.m./SLT Studio B ADULT ACTING Ages 18 and up For the adult who has the urge to experience theatre, this is the class for you! Students will tackle scripts, do improvisation, enjoy good company, and have a fantastic time! Fears of public speaking, be gone!
