Music by Richard Rodgers. Book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Based on Anna and the King by Margaret Landon. The King and I is one of the all time marvels of the musical theatre stage. East meets West in a most dramatic, richly textured and uplifting fashion. It’s 1862 and the King of Siam has summoned an English widow and her young son to the Royal Palace in Bangkok to serve as a tutor to his many children and wives and to help change his image from barbaric to refined. With a firm grip on their respective values and traditions, Anna and the King grow to understand and respect one another in a truly unique love story. The dazzling score of all time favorites includes “Getting To Know You,” “Shall We Dance?” “Hello Young Lovers,” and “I Whistle A Happy Tune.”

Based on the works of Carlo Collodi. Geppetto, a gentle woodcarver, carves a marionette to be his substitute son and a good fairy brings the toy to life. Yet he is not a human boy. He must earn the right to be real by proving that he is brave, truthful and unselfish. Even with the help of Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio gets into trouble. Yet, when he discovers that Geppeto has been swallowed by a whale, he selflessly risks his life to save his father.
