Springfield Little Theatre Scholarship Program It is our desire that the community theatre experience be an inclusive one, not an exclusive one. With your support, we are able to provide scholarship assistance for those who may not be able to afford the luxury of arts training. In our mind, exposure to the arts is not a luxury; it is vital to the soul of an individual and the spirit of a community! We believe that Springfield Little Theatre youth programs make a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of each child and level the learning field across socio-economic boundaries; strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills adding to overall achievement and academic success; provide alternatives to destructive behavior; and help students develop a sense of craftsmanship, a positive work ethic, pride and a sense of accomplishment in a job well done. For adult students, SLT classes offer an opportunity to fine tune their skills in a supportive environment with people who share common interests, inspiring a sense of community thereby empowering personal transformations while instilling the values of creativity, discipline, teamwork and respect. For the serious student who aspires to pursue a career in theatre, the SLT Education program functions as a formal training ground, a professional springboard and a home base.
