Big River

January 28-February 13, 2011 Music and lyrics by Roger Miller. Book by William Hauptman. A rollicking musical adaptation of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The King of the Road, Grammy and Tony Award winner Roger Miller, composed an incredibly jubilant score of Cajun, gospel, folk, country and blues music which shepherds the audience on a journey down the Mighty Mississippi with Huck, searching for a new life and Jim the runaway slave, searching for freedom. This tale of adventure and self-discovery is an American classic that captures the rhythms, sounds and spirit of life on the big river and provides a brilliant celebration of pure Americana.
