Into The Woods

April 13-29, 2012 Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.  Book by James Lapine.  In Act 1, a childless baker and his wife swindle, steal from and lie to Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack (of beanstalk fame).  All this to break a witch’s spell responsible for their childlessness.  Everyone’s wish is granted, but, in act 2, our fairy tale characters begin to feel the repercussions of their fulfilled wishes, realizing that what you want is often more than you bargained for.  Winner of the Tony Award for Best Score and Best Book and New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Into The Woods reminds us that actions have consequences, we each need to take responsibility, and we should be careful what we wish for.
