An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre and Mosaic Arts Collective’s Education Series production of MOANA, JR. will be offered Thursday, March 2, 2023, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at The Judy.
Everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to make your very best impression!
Participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given a short line reading all of which will be used in placement auditions.

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department and Mosaic Arts Collective are excited to present MOANA, JR. Disney’s MOANA, JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage.
Placement auditions for performers ages 6 and up will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre. At the auditions, participants will be asked to perform a short line reading. Placement callbacks will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 starting at 6:00 PM.

The first company meeting and rehearsal will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Rehearsals will be Sundays – Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.
Performances will be presented Friday, April 28, 2023 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 PM, Friday, May 5 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 6 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, and Sunday, May 7 at 2:00 PM in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy. A participation fee/ tuition of $175 helps to meet some of the costs of the project.

Auditions are held annually, and the members of the group remain together for the entirety of the Springfield Little Theatre season. Membership offers participants a stimulating, fast-paced rehearsal environment; multiple performance opportunities; a sense of belonging; an investment in community; discounted class sessions at SLT; internship opportunities; and college/career guidance from a caring and creative staff. All troupers learn the values of accountability, discipline, teamwork, kindness, hard work, and play, attributes that will serve them in any of their future endeavors and are instilled with a lifelong love for the arts. For the serious student who aspires to pursue a career in theatre, Y.E.S. Troupe functions as a formal training ground, a springboard and a home base, as well as fosters a supportive alumni network.

- Provide 1 letter of reference (Returning troupers do not need to provide a letter of reference.)
- Submit a 500 word essay explaining your interest in the arts.
- A recent photograph.
- Wear clothes and shoes that will allow you to move freely. You will be taught a short musical theatre dance combination.
