Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, this rousing Disney musical tells the inspiring true story of the newsboys’ strike of 1899. When powerful publisher Joseph Pulitzer raises the price of papers at the newsboys’ expense, charismatic young Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to stand up for what’s right, and discovers along the way that a group of determined kids can take on the most powerful men in town.
Featuring Alan Menken’s Tony Award-winning score, including “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” DISNEY’S NEWSIES is a high-energy, dance-filled celebration of courage, friendship, and fighting for a better world.
