CONTENT ADVISORY: ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is a lighthearted musical comedy suitable for most audiences. The production includes mild romantic humor, comic innuendo, exaggerated royal behavior, and moments of broad physical comedy. Parental guidance is suggested for very young children.
It’s happily ever laughter with ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, the whimsical musical comedy that turns fairy tales upside down with royal antics, crowd-pleasing songs, and one thoroughly unconventional princess. Bright, clever, and full of theatrical joy, this playful twist on “The Princess and the Pea” brings a kingdom-sized dose of comedy to the historic Landers Theatre.
In a kingdom where no one may marry until Prince Dauntless finds a bride, the overbearing Queen Aggravain has made sure every potential princess fails her impossible tests. But when the bold and delightfully unrefined Princess Winnifred arrives, the court is thrown into chaos, one tiny pea becomes a royal trial, and happily ever after may finally have a chance.
