Maceo Cortezz teaches Middle School Scene Study at The Judy and is no stranger to Springfield Little Theatre. He grew up at SLT, training as a young actor under his now-colleagues Rachel Jamieson and Jessica Bower, spending seven years as an SLT Trouper, and becoming a regular part of Springfield’s improv community.

Maceo holds a BA (Hons) in Acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. His professional credits include the UK and Dublin tour of AN INSPECTOR CALLS, directed by Stephen Daldry and produced by the National Theatre of London and PW Productions, as well as FEELING LONELY AT PARTIES with Exeter Northcott Theatre.

Back home, Maceo has appeared in dozens of SLT productions and worked with theatre companies throughout the Springfield area. Favorite local credits include Romeo in ROMEO AND JULIET with Forte Theatre; Claudio in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and Aaron in TITUS ANDRONICUS with Actors Theatre of Missouri; THE LARAMIE PROJECT with High Tide Theatrical; and A RAT’S NEST by Moe Callahan.

Having grown up in theatre classrooms and rehearsal rooms himself, Maceo is excited to help young actors dig deeper into character, make bold choices, and discover what makes a scene come alive.
