With an expressive score by Jason Robert Brown and a uniquely personal approach to storytelling, this two-character musical explores the hopes, ambitions, and everyday moments that bring two people together and pull them apart.

Cathy, an aspiring actress, and Jamie, a rising novelist, fall in love while pursuing their dreams in New York City. But their five-year relationship unfolds in opposite directions: Cathy begins with the heartbreak of their separation and moves backward, while Jamie starts with the promise of their first meeting and moves forward. Their stories meet only once, on their wedding day—a shared moment of possibility at the center of two very different journeys.
