A New Year: Shannon Sherrow

A letter from our Marketing Director, Shannon Sherrow
Hello, I’m Shannon, Marketing Director at Springfield Little Theatre!
Happy Theatre Thursday! As we start 2023 its exciting to look ahead at a brand new year and look back at the last half of our 88th Season! Something Rotten, School Of Rock, and White Christmas launched us into our 88th season, and ended 2022 with a bang. Three very different shows and each of them so much fun on the Landers stage. A new year brings all new excitement to our season, so let’s talk about what’s to come!
New Year, New Shows!
What better way to kick off a new year than with a magical adventure, and a true classic, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! This show takes you on a musical adventure with an out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the
seas. Based on the 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, which I have showed my children a dozen times, the stage musical features a beautiful score of fun songs. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a family-friendly classic that is perfect for all ages. The perfect way to start the new year is with the whole family together at the theatre!
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang opens January 27 at the Landers Theatre and runs through February 12, 2023.
Following Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the remaining shows in the season are: The Play That Goes Wrong, Pippin, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Wow, talk about something for everyone! The Play That Goes Wrong is absolutely hysterical. If you’re a fan of Noises Off, The 39 Steps, or… laughing, then this play is for you! Our only non-musical show of the season, and its directed by our resident funny-lady, Executive Director Beth Domann! Pippin is going to be a show-stopper and one you will not want to miss. SLT is producing the updated revival of Pippin which is a circus-inspired version. The show is being done in conjunction with 417 Aerial which has me really excited to see it! Pippin is rated R so this one is for mature audiences. To end our lucky 88th season is the stunning Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! Okay, I can’t stop thinking about this one. Not only am I excited to take my kids to see it, let’s be honest, I’m excited to take myself to see it! An enchanting musical for all ages that just makes you feel good is the perfect way to end a magical season.
The 2023 portion of our 88th Season is looking to be a hilarious, daring, magical, one. Be our guest!
