Six-Week Sessions
SESSION I: September 9-October 19
SESSION II: October 21-November 25 OR December 7
Classes will not meet Wednesday, November 27-Saturday, November 30
The final Monday class of Session II is Monday, November 25. The final Saturday class of Session II is Saturday, December 7
SESSION III: January 6-February 15
SESSION IV: February 17-April 4
Classes will not meet Monday, March 16-Saturday, March 21
SESSION V: April 6-May 16
SLT Classes will not meet when Springfield Public Schools are cancelled by the district for inclement weather. Please check springfieldlittletheatre.org or the Springfield Little Theatre Facebook Page for updates.
Observation
The last half of the last day of a 6-week open session SLT Education Class is set aside as an opportunity for students to informally share some of what they’ve learned during the six-week session. Family and friends are invited to attend the demonstrations to enjoy the process that is theatre education. On the final day of the session, students are asked to arrive at the regular start time and parents are invited in to watch the last twenty minutes.
Tuition
Tuition for six-week classes are listed below. If more than one class session interests you, there are discounts for taking multiple courses during one six-week session. Many of our classes are scheduled so that you can pair them with other offerings on the same evenings.
$75 for one six-week session course
$135 for two courses in one six-week session of classes
$185 for three courses in one six-week session of classes
$225 for unlimited courses for one student in one six-week session of classes
(Pre-Professional Track, Troupe Tuition, Semester/Year-Long Classes, Workshops, Private Instruction, and REFIT rates differ.)
Pre-registration and full payment is required to reserve your space in class. We reserve the right to cancel a class session if enrollment is insufficient; tuition payments will be refunded in full.
T-SHIRTS
Springfield Little Theatre ACTOR IN TRAINING T-shirts may be purchased for $20.00 at the time of registration. Proceeds from the sale of these shirts go to the SLT scholarship fund. Shirts will be delivered to students by the fourth week of the session.
CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND POLICIES
Registration Procedure: Pre-registration is required. Please register online at springfieldlittletheatre.org. If you do not have access to online registration, please call the Education Department at 413-ACTS Ext 0.
Payment: Full payment is required in order to secure your space in class.
Class Confirmation: If you provide an e-mail address, you will receive confirmation of enrollment.
Cancellation by SLT: We reserve the right to cancel class if enrollment is insufficient. Any tuition paid will be refunded in full.
Location: All 6-Week Education Classes will take place at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre, 237 South Florence Avenue (between Walnut and St. Louis, one block north of National).

STORY EXPLORERS
Acting Class for Ages 6-8
Mondays 4:45 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
A creative introduction to theatre. Through the use of classic stories and improvisation, your child will learn the basic skills needed to better express his or herself on stage and off.
ACTING BASICS
Acting for Ages 9-12
Mondays 4:00 p.m.-4:45 p.m.
Always wanted to be an actor, but didn’t know where to start? Come “play” with us in Acting Basics. This class focuses on fun and creativity through theatre games and dramatic story-building. Group interaction and cooperation in playing a scene will be emphasized.
ACT/TEEN
Acting for Teens
Mondays 5:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.
This class is designed to serve both the teenaged beginner and those committed young adults who are interested in advancing their acting skills. ACT/TEEN is a supportive, engaging class where students at any level are met where they are, and challenged with monologues, scene work, and improvisation.
ADULT ACTING
Wednesdays 7:30-8:50 p.m.
Acting is a skill like any other; you have to practice to get better. Whether you are experienced or want to try acting for the first time, this is training for you! This course focuses on character development, playing the objective, listening, voice and movement, and more through improvisation, cold readings, monologues, and scene work.

BROADWAY BOUND
Musical Theatre Dance for Ages 6-8
Mondays 5:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.
In addition to learning fundamental dance steps, students will have the opportunity to perform repertory from popular children’s musicals. What a wonderful way to prepare for that next dance audition!
STEPPIN’ OUT
Musical Theatre Dance for Ages 9-12
Mondays 4:45 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Learn to dance while enjoying both classic and contemporary show-tunes. Expand your dance vocabulary; improve your technique; and develop your performance skills!
GOTTA DANCE
Musical Theatre Dance for Teens
Mondays 4:00 p.m.-4:45 p.m.
Back by popular demand, this class is high energy, fun-spirited and a terrific workout! GOTTA DANCE features a warm-up followed by a new musical theatre combination each week.
BALLET/TAP/AND JAZZ COMBO CLASSES

Develop your vocal skills in the comfort of a group setting and gain confidence for that next audition.
LA-TI-DO–Musical Theatre Voice for Teens

Improve your vocal skills while performing music written for the theatrical stage. Learn how to use your voice correctly while singing as a character and present your best in an audition.

Musical Theatre for Ages 4-5
Saturdays 9:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m.
An exciting exploration of “play acting” for the very young child. This class encourages your child to have confidence in his or her ideas and abilities, develop concentration skills, and learn to work with others. Combines acting, singing, and movement.
