Dr. Gretchen Teague
Dr. Gretchen Teague serves as the Springfield Little Theatre Academy Coordinator and teaches Devising & Acting at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre.. She is also a Theatre Instructor at Drury University and joins Springfield Little Theatre following a 25-year career as a theatre educator at Central High School.
Gretchen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Missouri State University, a Master of Education from Drury University, a Doctor of Education from Lindenwood University, and a Graduate Certificate in Puppetry Arts from the University of Connecticut.
As a theatre maker, Gretchen works as a director, movement director, designer, puppeteer, performer, and deviser. She is especially passionate about creating original theatre, exploring character, building strong ensembles, writing, researching, and discovering the power of laughter along the way.
That passion led her to create Devising Original Theatre Springfield (DOTS), an organization dedicated to championing new work through devising and playwriting.
