Lorianne Dunn
Lorianne Dunn is proud to have served as Education Director for Springfield Little Theatre for 19 years, leading a team that has developed and expanded the programs, personnel, practices, and partnerships of SLT’s Education Department. Together, their work has impacted thousands of young artists and families, helping grow arts education at Springfield Little Theatre and earning recognition for the organization on a national level.
An accomplished director, choreographer, dancer, and educator, Lorianne’s recent Landers Theatre credits include direction and/or choreography for THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, MATILDA, DISNEY’S FROZEN JR., JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, NEWSIES, WEST SIDE STORY, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, and THE WIZARD OF OZ. She trained with Springfield Ballet, State Ballet of Missouri, Alabama Dance Theatre, and the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Missouri State University. Her choreography has earned national recognition, including a Dance Magazine nomination for Choreographer of the Year.
Lorianne has been honored with the Springfield Regional Arts Council’s Arts Education Ozzie Award and was named one of Springfield Business Journal’s 20 Most Influential Women. She is also featured alongside Beth Domann in Change the Game, a book exploring the people and practices behind the growth of Springfield Little Theatre.
At the heart of Lorianne’s work is a belief in the transformative power of arts education and the extraordinary potential of young people. She is deeply grateful to the Springfield Little Theatre staff, board, volunteers, parents, and community for their steadfast support, and especially to the generations of students and performers whose passion, creativity, and courage continue to inspire the work each day.
