Moe Callahan teaches Visual Art and Design at The Judy and is a multidisciplinary artist and performer active in Springfield’s theatre community. They are also a member of the Devising Original Theatre Springfield (DOTS) ensemble.

Moe has studied and worked across a wide range of visual mediums, with gallery work focused primarily in watercolor and oil painting. Their artistic interests also include puppetry, found-object art dolls, and creating new work from unexpected materials.

Moe studied at Lithuanian Christian College in Klaipėda, Lithuania, where they served as a teaching assistant in a middle school visual arts classroom. That experience helped strengthen their passion for encouraging young artists to experiment, take creative risks, and discover their own artistic voice.

Moe believes memorable art does not have to begin with expensive materials or perfect circumstances. Through resourcefulness, curiosity, and a willingness to create with what is available, they encourage students to see possibility everywhere—and to understand that humility and creativity can lead to powerful work.
