Jamie Bower
Jamie Bower has been part of the Springfield Little Theatre family for over 20 seasons, bringing a wide range of experience as a technician, director, performer, and member of the production team. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Jamie studied Musical Theatre and Performance at the University of Montevallo near Birmingham, Alabama, before shifting his focus to technical theatre. He later transferred to Missouri State University, where he completed a BFA in Technical Theatre and Design.
As Co-Technical Director/ Lighting & Sound Designer, Jamie helps oversee the front-of-house technical operations of the historic Landers Theatre, supporting the many details that make each production and performance possible. His work behind the scenes is matched by a long history of creative involvement onstage and in the director’s chair.
Jamie made his SLT directorial debut with GREATER TUNA in 2009. His directing credits have since included MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, four productions in the TUNA series, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, A CHRISTMAS STORY, OLIVER!, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, OF MICE AND MEN, THE 39 STEPS, and SOMETHING ROTTEN!
As a performer, Jamie has appeared in numerous Springfield Little Theatre productions, including THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST, OKLAHOMA!, THE MOUSETRAP, SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, CURTAINS, BIG RIVER, RENT, SPAMALOT, A CHRISTMAS STORY, MATILDA, and, most recently, LES MISÉRABLES as Thénardier.
Jamie is grateful for the many years he has spent creating theatre at The Landers and for the colleagues, volunteers, artists, and audiences who make the work so rewarding. He especially thanks his wife, Jessica, his family, and his SLT family for their continued love and support.
