Laura Frost
Laura Frost is a Youth Programs Specialist at the Springfield Little Theatre Education Department. As a part of her position, Laura is the lead Elementary Troupe instructor and co-director of Teen Players, SLT’s UpstAGE Adult Dance Troupe, and SLT on Wheels. She began her time with Springfield Little Theatre over 10 years ago when she attended her first School’s Out Workshop as an 11-year-old. Since then, Laura has continued to participate as a performer and instructor in the theatre. Laura has appeared in over 15 productions at Springfield Little Theatre, her favorite of which was JOSPEH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT in 2019. While in high school, she continued to perfect her theatrical craft, and a career in education began to pique her interest. With her fascination for theatrical arts and newfound interest in education, Laura set out to pursue a degree in Theatre Education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Theatre Education with an additional certification in Secondary English Education from Missouri State University.
Throughout college, Laura continued to perform on The Landers Stage and worked part-time at SLT beginning in the summer of 2018. Over the years, Laura has assisted in directing and choreographing numerous shows and directed her first Springfield Little Theatre Education Series production in early 2020. Laura joined the full-time staff at SLT in the fall of 2022. Since then, Laura has directed six productions for the SLT Education Department. Her proudest was the first show she directed on the Historic Landers Stage, MEAN GIRLS, JR., as a part of SLT’s 2023 Summer Programs.
Laura’s educational background and deep roots in the Springfield Little Theatre Education Department bring her unique skills that help her provide students with a theatrical education that upholds the standard of excellence that the Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is known for. Her goal is to provide every student who walks through the doors of The Judy with the theatrical skills that will help them succeed in life, no matter their path.
