Laura Frost
Laura Frost serves as a Youth Programs Specialist with the Springfield Little Theatre Education Department, where she works with students across a wide range of ages and programs. In her role, Laura serves as lead instructor for Elementary Troupe and co-director of Teen Players, and SLT On Wheels.
Laura’s own journey with Springfield Little Theatre began more than a decade ago when, at age 11, she attended her first School’s Out Workshop. From there, she became deeply involved as a student, performer, and eventually instructor. She has appeared in more than 15 Springfield Little Theatre productions, with JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT among her favorite experiences on the Landers stage.
As her love of theatre grew, Laura also discovered a passion for education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Theatre Education from Missouri State University, along with an additional certification in Secondary English Education. While completing her degree, she continued performing at The Landers and joined the SLT Education Department part-time in 2018.
Over the years, Laura has assisted with the direction and choreography of numerous productions and directed her first Springfield Little Theatre Education Series production in 2020. She joined the full-time SLT staff in 2022 and has since directed multiple Education Department productions as well as Disney’s FROZEN at The Landers Theatre.
Having grown up within Springfield Little Theatre’s education programs herself, Laura brings a unique understanding of the impact theatre education can have on a young person’s life. Her goal is to give every student who walks through the doors of The Judy the confidence, creativity, discipline, and theatrical skills that can serve them well—whether their future leads them to the stage or somewhere entirely different.
