Springfield Little Theatre Education Department Announces 2026 Summer Youth Programs

Summer is set to shine at Springfield Little Theatre as the Education Department unveils an exciting 2026 lineup of youth camps, workshops, intensives, and performance opportunities designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and give young artists of all ages the chance to grow onstage and behind the scenes. From themed Summer Stages workshops and full-scale youth productions to technical theatre training and original storytelling experiences, this summer’s programming offers something for every kind of student artist.
The season includes five imaginative Summer Stages sessions — Gonna Be Golden, Under the Sea, Screen to Stage, Wiz-O-Mania, and Rock n’ Troll — alongside advanced performance opportunities like Band Geeks, Matilda, JR., Bye Bye Birdie: Youth Edition, and Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School, JR. Students can also explore their creativity through Devising Original Theatre Springfield’s Young Artist Intensive, while future designers, crew members, and theatre technicians can gain hands-on experience through multiple Technical Theatre Camps. Even SLT’s youngest performers will have a chance to shine through special pre-performance opportunities connected to the Summer Institute productions.
Designed for a wide range of ages and experience levels, Springfield Little Theatre’s summer youth programs continue to provide meaningful arts education in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. Whether a student is taking their very first step into theatre or pursuing more intensive pre-professional training, these summer offerings are built to help young people explore their talents, collaborate with others, and experience the joy of live performance.
In addition to youth programming, Springfield Little Theatre is once again accepting applications for its Arts Administration Internships. Guided by the spirit of Explore It. Create It. Own It. Sell It., these internships offer hands-on experience for students interested in areas such as photography, design, directing, videography, marketing, social media, fundraising, teaching, front-of-house, box office, and executive leadership. It’s a fast-paced opportunity to learn the inner workings of a thriving arts organization while gaining real-world experience in the field.
