VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK!
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK AT THE LANDERS THEATRE!
It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week and being a volunteer-driven organization we are thrilled to celebrate our many volunteers that help create the magic of live theatre for our community!
The Landers Theatre runs on volunteer magic for every show. From the performers you see on stage, to the crew backstage, the technicians running the lights and sound, the ushers helping you to your seats, the Guild selling you M&M’s and soda, to the greeters scanning your tickets. Volunteers truly are the heartbeat of Springfield Little Theatre and we couldn’t bring quality performance art to the community without each and every one of them!

“I find people are apprehensive to volunteer to step out of their comfort zone (home) but once they do, they find what they are volunteering for becomes their comfort zone. For me, it was the Landers!” – Darlene Henne, SLT Guild President
“I started volunteering for the Landers toward the end of the pandemic at a time where I spent a lot of time at home and volunteering gave me an excuse to go out and stay busy. It introduced me to an amazing community that continues to grow and astound me every day. This opportunity has changed my life, considerably.” – Kyle Aug, Landers Technical Crew
“I love volunteering at the Landers because theatre is such a huge part of our families lives. My daughter is in SLT’s Youth Performance Troupe and has been in main stage shows, education shows, and summer camps. It has been a way for me to give back to the place that has given us so much and continues to five us so much!” – Stephanie Derrick, Landers Usher and Education Angel
“Volunteering with Springfield Little Theatre means so much to me because I was able to regain my passion and love for technical theatre again. Tech theatre has always been something I truly cared about, especially in a career sense, but the pandemic happened and changed everything, including my own life path. By volunteering with SLT, I was finally able to truly embrace my inner high school theatre kid once again. I truly thank this amazon community for sparking my creativity and helping me rediscover myself.” – Ava Graham, Landers Technical Crew
“Volunteering at the Landers means not only supporting my local theatre, but doing something for the community that brings joy to everyone. Everyone who goes to the Landers has the opportunity to find a home within it, and I’m happy to be a part of that!” – Mollie-Lee Glenn, Landers Technical Crew and Community Event Support
