An Audition Preparatory Workshop for Springfield Little Theatre’s Education Series production of BLANKET KID will be offered Monday, October 3, 2022, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM at The Judy.
Everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to make your very best impression!
Participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given a short line reading all of which will be used in placement auditions.

The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department is excited to present BLANKET KID with Guest Artist Robbo in its 2022-2023 Education Series! In this high-energy musical review, we sing about the power of play, discover how to overcome new challenges, and learn how to be an excellent friend!
Placement auditions for performers ages 8 and up will be held Monday, October 10, 2022 at 7:00 PM at The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre. At the auditions, participants will be taught a short movement combination, a portion of a song from the show, and will be given and asked to perform a short line reading.

The first company meeting and rehearsal will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Rehearsals will be Sundays – Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal.
Performances will be presented Friday, November 11, 2022 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, and Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM in The Reynolds Auditorium at The Judy. A participation fee/ tuition of $125 helps to meet some of the costs of the project.
Springfield Little Theatre’s 2022-2023 Education Series is presented by POSITRONIC, an Amphenol company.

Whether it’s your first audition or your 20th, everyone can benefit from a show’s audition workshop! Learn how to choose the material that’s best for you, develop your cold reading skills, improve your vocal selections, survive a dance audition, and make your very best impression!
Participants are asked to prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. If you need help finding a selection that works for you, no worries, we can help you accomplish that at the workshop! A movement combination will also be taught, and participants will have the opportunity to explore cold readings, as well.
